Training local farmers in Rwanda on production of selected fruit trees

During the two weeks training, the local farmers in Rwanda were provided the seedlings of citrus and mangoes and made aware of how including the fruit trees in their farm may help them to increase their income and improve environment. The project was implemented in Mayange Sector, Bugesera District, Rwanda.

Our bacteriology team had a great time demonstrating and teaching about various bacterial diseases of tomato and other vegetables to the high school science educators. The participants learned from other UF faculty and graduate students about various topics on plant pathology including hands-on activities, and tours of research facilities and the plant disease diagnostic facility.
